1.Basar Saraswathi Temple




Basar Saraswathi Temple, situated on Godavari river banks, is the most important temple in Adilabad. The uniqueness of this temple is that it is one amongst the two temples dedicated to the Goddess Saraswati  the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, arts and sciences. It is also an ancient temple. It gains further importance as it is believed to be situated on the land where sage Ved Vyas performed severe penance. The temple is an old pilgrimage spot where many pilgrims come to Basara to perform the Akshara abhyasamceremony for the children before they start formal school education wherein the children perform the exercise of letters, and devote books, pens, pencils notebooks to the goddess of knowledge


2.Kala Ashram

 Kala Ashram is situated in a serene location. Founded by Shri Ravindra Sharma in the year 1979, the ashram has a wide range of books that are relevant to rural society. The ashram concentrates on traditional arts, philosophy, culture, science and technology. The ashram makes active participation to revive fading art forms like Bhiksha Vruttis.

3.Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary


Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary is situated amidst dense forests, which offers a perfect setting for wild animals and plants. Established in the year 1964, the sanctuary is famous for a wide range of species. Some of the wild animals and birds found here include tigers, panthers, the Indian bison, sloth bear, crocodiles, cobra, python, owls, eagles, peacocks and many more exotic fauna. It was notified as tiger reserve in April 2012. In this regard habitat development is undertaken with release of 150 cheetals as prey population. To keep check on poaching, new check posts have been created. Traditional sources of water were also improved. 


4.Kuntala Waterfalls



The highest waterfalls in Telangana, Kuntala Waterfalls are located in the middle of the mountain ranges of Sahyadri. According to Hindu mythology, the waterfall acquired its name after Shakuntala, the wife of King Dushyanta who used to bathe here and it was here that they fell in love. The 45 meters tall waterfall receives its source from The River Kadam that flows through thick forests

7.Pranahita Wildlife Sanctuary



Pranahita Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Adilabad. It is one among the oldest areas protected in Telangana. Covering an area of 136 sq. km, the sanctuary was established in the year 1980 and has a variety of species. The River Pranahita flows here and hence makes natural vegetation possible. The wild animals found here are tigers, leopards, sloth bear, and hyenas. The birds found here are ducks, herons, teals and many more.



8.Pochera Waterfalls

Pochera waterfalls are situated in the thickness of the forests. River Godavarimerges with the stream of water and falls down from a height of 20m. These beautiful waterfalls with spectacular landscape are a visual treat to the eyes. Since it is surrounded by dense forests, you will find a variety of plants and trees here.
